Many DJs in the industry especially younger ones have a superstar attitude, like gods of the turntables, turning each set into a show-off fest of self-importance. Nowadays it’s more about noises from a synthesiser or laptop than actual music. Wherever you go, everyone seems to be pumping out the same kind of computer-generated offering.
A good disc jockey knows his music inside out and isn’t afraid of musical instruments because that’s where real music comes from. He is comfortable with his musical heritage and not afraid to re-invent and rekindle.
I’m Matthew, an upcoming set artist based in Hayes, Middlesex with a love of old-skool vinyl classics. Nevertheless I have taken on the technology of the 21st century so I can bring my creations to your ears and hearts (even if I had to go through two laptops in the process).
