I don't own Tech's myself. I use a Behringer DJX700 mixer at home with two Pioneer CDJ 500s.

My mate has Tech's though as well as CDJ500's and a Pioneer DJM500 mixer. I've been using his (on and off) for nearly 4 years now I love the Tech's

I have only ever used Tech's. Stanton's have got a lot reputation now...even though they have won awards I still doubt very much that they will become the new industry standard though

I'm actually still in two minds whether to get a xone 92 or a DJM800 - decisions decisions - grrr

From what I have read up they are both quality mixers without a doubt - I haven't seen either of them in action though.

I have used the DJM500 many times and I find it is a quality mixer - ok the effects are crap that aside though it has a good build etc etc. been as I am used to the DJM500 I thought it would be good to get an DJM800. The extra stuff that the DJM800 has sounds real good e.g. harmonic mixing, better effects inc. filter (same as xone) the filter effect that the DJM500 doesn't have.

They have done loads to the DJM800 I would have more than likely took the cheaper option and got a DJM400 ,,, as it is only a 3ch mixer though its definitely a no no, i'm afraid.

I reckon I would only end up upgrading the DJM400 to a DJM800 at a later date. So yer I'd be better of just getting the DJM800 straight away.

Like I say though it's still a toss between the Allen & Heath 92 and DJM800. I won't be upgrading my current mixer for a while yet anyway... so I have enough time to decide I suppose

While I'm the subject I think I should remove my DJM800 avatar (DJM800 rules!) until I have actually used one. Hahaha.

Nar from what I have read though etc they are shoite hot.

OMG I have just highjacked the thread - oh well

technics and a pioneer djm600 seems like the only way to go for me - purely because this is the set up i come accross most in clubs and parties, so it seems to make sense to be able to practise on it at home.

like i said in my earlier thread i've got/use technics mk3 turntables & a pioneer djm 600, like tom said when you play out in most clubs, they've got that set up. also i'm after a cdj 100 or cdj 800.
i've played out on a couple of allen & heath mixers, there good but prefer the djm 600, i get bored with the just the fliter & some people use it way to much during their sets

Except the echo effect, that rocks!!!

Flange effect still sounds good if you use it wisely.

The echo effect is ok

The flange is good but you need to take the bass of a little when using it or just clips like feck

When I am mixing u will never hear me use the flanger,

Its a effect which i think is over used,

I do muck about with echo and pitch but in very littel quantities

I'm a Tech guy after owning some Numarks when I started out. Other than Numark's basic turntables, they can't make **** worth buying, though.

And Powell - I've used the A&H 92 and really could care less about it now. It was too cluttered for my tastes. So now It's down to the Ecler NUO 5 or the DJM 800...and it'll probably be the Pioneer.

Personally dont use turntables, but have used the technics and they are very good quality but their are also just as good or better decks around that are cheaper - the stantons, numarks etc. Also, Chris, dno if youve got ya new mixer yet but gta be the Allen & Heath Xone 92 all the way without a doubt. Awesome mixer, amazing sound quality, excellent filters, great build quality, the list goes on. Only advantage on the DJM 800 is the Midi Control.

if i had the $$ & i had to choose between A&H92 or DJM800 it would be the 800 hands down i too find the allen heather mixer to cluttered with all the knobs to close together etc...
