Default cdj800mk2 ... kaboom?

i have bought a new cdj800 mk2 recently and when it was delivered i was out. my brother got a normal british plug(240v) and pluged it into the cdj power socket which operates under 120v and he said it switched on and then turned itself off after about a second. i have two questions

1) will 240v have damaged my cdj in any way?

2) do i need to use a step down convertor to operate it (240v->120v)

thanks

well the switch on the cdj needs to be on 240v if the mains is 240v. And it might well have damaged the cdj. Just try sliding the switch to 240 and if it dont work its probly damaged

is the model you bought a us import model, from say like ebay or somewhere, the standard uk models will switch both from 110-240v

but there are some us import models that do need a step down coverter to work on 110v

Sh1t, unlucky mate. Hope it works out fine - where did you get them from?

I just ordered a pair of these last-night so hope I don't have the same problem!
