| The way I look at it is, Djs use differenet manufactures because each manufacturer does something different in their equipment. A dj will choose their equipment because THEY like it and not because others like it! Yeh many people would like a full on pioneer setup but some just cant afford it, or they feel that equipment from other manufacturers could do a similar job.

| took my decks and mixer to a party last night where some guy's were using some numark axis 5's. Now in the past whenever i have used my gear in the past on a small soundsystem (under 8k) we've used my mates cdj 800's or 100's and i have to admit the sound quality is usually better from cd's than vinyl. Last night however as soon as i put some vinyl on and set my eq's on the mixer the sound quality increased dramatically - in fact all the cd jocks just couldn't believe it and kept commenting about it. At first i thought it might just be my eq'ing so i tried setting the eq's on the cd channels and it didn't make much difference. In conclusion the sound quality from the axis 5's was absoleutly awful, i wouldn't dream of using them at any kind of event ... i guess you get what you pay for
