Default Vinyl or CD

Which is best in your opinion??

Ive heard a lot recently that vynil is well on its way out now. Im going to be looking at buying some new equipment probably in the summer time and was wondering whether to stick with vynil or go for cd decks.

If music was available on vinyl the same it is on the digital format then i would have stuck with vinyl. Dam does burning Cd's piss me off tis so boring.

As i can get a wider range of music on the digital formats, and can use loops, effects etc i'll be sticking with the digital formats. Real shame it’s come to this

Tears aside though, digital for the win IMO

Its so hard to pic one. For breaks and classic trance its all about vinyl. I went on a mad spree grabbing ALOT of classics from back in the 90's on vinyl. Got around 5,000 records now and over 400 classic and current mix cds. There is nothing like the sound on analog and the feel of mixing on turntables. I learned on turntables but for the new trance stuff I really enjoy CD. The quality is just amazing.

I know I will never go all the way to mixing just of my laptop. but 90% of my sets or now on the CDjs unless I throw in a a few classics.

Personally when I get my DJ set-up I will be geting a mixure of turntables and DCJ's.

I prefer vinyl as I think it's easier to use, but understand it is a lot easier to get stuff on CD these days.

Get a combination is my opinion.

Default well Vinyl

I myself play all vinyl. I have noticed a big influx of music on digital that is very washed up because it so easy to get and everyone has the same tracks. I have always loved vinyl and have attempted to try CDJ format, but to me its very hard to create the artistic representation of DJing. People may disagree with me, but as a person who spends at least a 1000.oo a month of vinyl I can tell you its no where near its end. I myself play along headliners every month and often they will ask me about certain tracks. You may ask how could this be? I truly am in aww of just how much fresh music there is on vinyl that for some reason its just not making it too digital sites. Yes there are distributors that have closed and stores that have stopped selling vinyl, but I assure you we are in a vinyl revolution and its really picking up in the last 12 months. So my final thought would be to say that both formats have there advantages and what you find on CD you might not find on vinyl and vice versa. Music is music when it comes down to it, but really it boils down to personal choice.
