Default get em now

I've just heard that panasonic have announced that they are ceasing production of technics SL1200/1210 turntables ue to the increasing use of digital dj formats.

Basically this means when current stocks have sold out there will be no more new ones, which in turn means the price of 2nd hand ones will rocket upwards. Now is the time to buy them folks if ever they were an investment....

can't seem to find anything to back up the statement on-line. I read this in a dj equipment shop this weekend wondering if it's just a crueal gimmick?

Yeah. Doesn't mean that vinyls gonna die out totally, it never will, just a sign off the times if Technics stop producing the 1200/ 1210. There's loads more manufacturers and turntables around and there's still gonna be loads of technics around, although it would mean the prices will rocket, but we'll see if they do actually stop producing them or not....
