| Keep it trance keep it DJ SAM RUSHTON ![]() Music - Dance If you LOVE TRANCE then this is the man to listen to, if you want a DJ that still plays to the crowed then come on down to The Venue The Venue, Long Eaton ::: Homepage and check him out. He loves his followers and always makes a special effort to find out what the regulars like and never disappoints them. Sam Rushton was born in Cambridge in 1973, he came to Nottingham University in 1992 and it was here that he was first introduced to the UK dance scene. A pair of Technics SL-1210's were bought with the help of a student loan resulting in the start of DJ Sam Rushton's new career. Many many gigs and a few mix tapes later, with the help of his good friend David Dixon, he managed to land the gig of his career - The closing set at London's Ministry of Sound in June 1995. This will always remain in his memory forever, 2 and half hours of total bliss sending 1500 people absolutely crazy. The birth of his son James in the August of that year slowed down his momentum as his family life became a priority over DJing, however this didn't stop him getting gigs with Cream and Miss Moneypenny's the following year. 1997 was a turning point in his career as he started a residency at the Deluxe club in Nottingham. Trance music started to grow in popularity after this and by 1998-99, some of the biggest trance anthems had already been born. The defining track for him was a track called Shine by The Space Brothers which always got hammered every week at the club and still holds a special place for him. In 2000 he landed a residency at Hartley’s in Leicester which gave him his first insight into the hard house scene, although hard house was not his first choice of music he did enjoy teaching the hard house nutters in Leicester the joy of uplifting trance but from 2am to 8am they liked nothing better than to just BOSH BOSH BOSH!!!!! Dj Sam Rushton eventually ended up at one of my favourite and "local" club called the Venue in Long Eaton. This is where he is still playing at the moment. He enjoys the intimate atmosphere that this club brings; the crowd also fully appreciate the uplifting trance which he loves to play. More recently he has warmed up for Judge Jules at the Time night club in Derby and at the Venue in Long Eaton and both times he lifted the roof off. He has also made a guest appearance on the Riley & Durrant show “Galaxy Nu Breed”, which you can download and listen to.
