need your opinion please.... howdy, Im a yummy mummy who has decided to embrace the sacred art of filling a dancefloor full of happy people. I have always been interested in mixing etc and finally got round to making it happen. Now i need your opinion on my decks before i go out and about with them. I bought them cause they are easy to use and compact. I have an idj2. Which means i can mix 2 songs off of my ipod. It is really easy to use and I do well on it. Now i need your opinions on whether i will get laughed at for not having pro decks as such? |

Fair play and good on you for wanting to mix on whatever you use, and if you make a good set using ipods then an audience that isnt snobby about equipment will enjoy what you do. Unfortunately you will never be able to please everyone, and there are some DJ's who will say that vinyl is the only way to mix, and anything digital is crap and should be shot at dawn. Me for one ![]() I only play CD's in the works van coz it doesnt have a turntable !

| Lmao! I can mix on vinyl as this is how i was originally taught back when i was 15! The only reason i dont have it just now is lack of funds at the moment. The idj2 was a reasonable price to start out and i didnt have to find shitloads of tunes. One day I will return to vinyl, hopefully. |

Good to hear you a vinyl lover at heart !These youngsters just dont understand and trying to explain why vinyl mixing is best is like ![]() When they stop making new stylus I will stop mixing, I just do not get anywhere near the same buzz as I get from my SL1210's when using cdj's or software. Call me oldskool n sad but I love getting the records out of the sleeves, quick dust, placing it on the platter and manually cueing the tune up, and that satisfying crackle just adds something special to the sound, make sit feel alive and real. Digital sound is just lifeless and sterile to my ears. I'm not perfect myself, I have a few chunks missing, some wrinkles, and a gap where there should be some teeth, but hey, thats what makes me ME lol and if a vinyl has a few imperfections then its the same thing.......

| you said it babe! one of the things i found really hard to get to grips with on my idj2 is that i dont have a record to touch. One of my fav things on vinyl is the feel of the records under my fingers, just holding it at my cue point...waiting....ready to let it go at just the right moment....orgasmic! |
