Default ableton live 6

just got live 6 up and running on my computer and i have to say it is great to use, after a few hours of baffling my head round a some of the concepts it suddenly all fell into place. It's so easy to try new sounds on top of what you have already got together and modify loops as you go along. Many hours of fun for me i think

i've been using ableton live 5 for about 18 months and love it to bits, my faourite bit of software. Been so useful to me. Some good additions in version 6 with the new instruments and vst effects etc. Was very disappointed with the video addition though. Was expecting more flexibility with that, but its a start and presumably in future versions this feature will be improved.

i don't think i'll ever use the video bit to be honest - i'm of the opinion that you should stick to doing one thing at once - if you do music be a dj/producer - if you do video be a vj. If you try and do both you're a smart ass

i see where you coming fom there Tom. I'd quite like to encorprate video into my sets, i'd just like there to be a bit more flexibility with the tool. I don't want to be a VJ i'd just like the option to be able to add that extra dimension to my sets without having a VJ with me.

i use it for production, remixing, re-edits etc. and i use it during live sets to trigger loops, samples etc. Have percussion and other stuff in there to layer over the top of the mix.

it's a sequencer so you can run a whole live set straight out of it and use it to control/trigger any outboard gear that you're using
