Default Cutting

Not used so much when spinning Trance and Progressive types of EDM but are used a lot in Techno, Hard Dance, Hardcore, and Urban & Turntablisum

The in and out mixing between two records can spice up the set when done right
Let others know what you think about cutting etc

I've heard sets by Techno DJ's where they've done too much cutting and spoilt the tuneage / mood.

Cutting can be overdone, just like effects can be overused.

i have learnt various techniques doing this like cutting then back in on the 3's & 4's it's very popular in the techno circuit but like tom said you don't wanna hear it every other tune.
i use the channel faders for this technique as you get a better cutting sound/swoop
