Default Platter / Wheel Jogging

Brushing your finger on the turntable platter is useful for slowing down a record slightly. How do you go about using that method, explain when you feel the need to use that method?

Of course sync-ing up two records is one of them, as above though how do you go about it eg when do you feel the need to brush your finger on the platter?

Pretty much the same for Wheel Jogging on CD Decks really... (Well kinda )

i always used to slow the rekkids down by touching them, now i always use the spindle in the middle of the deck - less chance of over doing it (with disastrous consequences)

Dam I forgot the Pushing Label / Pinching spindle thread

But yeah tom I do that to for the reasons you mentioned

When using CD Decks pinching the spindle can't be done though as there isn't one to pinch hehe

You can pitch-ride and wheel jog only on CD Decks, although the jog wheel is good at fine tuning... proberly more accurate than pinching the spindle on a turntable (although very semi-automatic)
