Cool Music Is My Life

Hello Everybody!!!!

Im Garry im 26 yrs old been djing for 12 yrs now (god im old) love my music all kinds, trying my producing at the moment but kind hit a brick wall..........so if anyone can give me some advice on how to create very good trance basslines or basslines in general please let me know.

Also check me out every friday 21:00 - 23:00

Try recreating your favourite trance tunes first to help you grasp the idea and technique perhaps and then apply them to your own individual ideas

I have loads of ideas just cant get the perfect bassline, im using cubase & vanguard , and i have created my own stuff but its just this damn bassline

Lol on being old atleast ur not 28 next year 8( why do we have to grow old and wither like plants and tree's hahahaha its late in the morning so let me off about the tree's un plants and birds and bee's o and worther's original's lol depending on what software your using to produce I can use Reason,cubase,Fruity i tend to loose interest easeirly when producing I usually find a full tune happens depending on how potent it is and how much sleep you have had 8) Keep at it 8)

hello, as regards bass line try filling the 3 16ths between kiks with ascending or descending notes. if you want to place a note where the kik falls sidechaining is the way forward as your kik will still come through clear and loud in the mix

i agree with tom, i use the same technique but with Reason, i find basslines the most tricky to get sounding right

it's a way of using compression some links that might help

mastering compression techniques will help make your tunes sound a lot fatter well worth getting your head into it

What would you say are the best programs to use ??

At moment im using cubase v3 / vanguard / battery 2 and loads of samples

Anyone got any better ones?

sounds good to me, i use ableton live aswell. Also Reason & Logic are good once you get the hang of them. Fruityloops is also very good for making trance based music & the like

the top four are widely considered to be cubase, logic, ableton and sonar. But really it's all about what you are most comfortable with using and what works for you

reasons good , i prefer cubase though.....still try to get to grips with it.
