To celebrate the release of his new Toolroom compilation album, Joachim Garraud will make an unprecedented performance at Ministry of Sound on Saturday 8th August.

Toolroom Knights pushes the boat out this Saturday with an intense line-up of worldly talents. Returning to his humble abode, Mark Knight will share his decks this month with impulsive sets from Joachim Garraud and Wolfgang Gartner, two leading names of the industry.

Victimising the soundsystem with his simultaneous bass-lines and forward thinking techy beats, Joachim Garraud makes his Toolroom debut. Diving deep into a full length journey of solid and robust swindled sounds, the savvy Frenchman will be spitting out his fable of ‘house.’

Joining him, Wolfgang Gartner follows suit with his puzzling and choppy beats. His blend of loose, weighty bass and angered electronic breaks are renowned for getting a crowd into a stimulating frenzy. Koen Groenveld goes deep, spinning elements of obnoxious techno, tip-toeing in murky minimal

Sweeping us into the darker shade of house the Bar gets dirty with reckless offerings from Juan Kidd, Tim Weeks and Pete Griffiths. continuing this episode of cryptic beats, Juan Kidd roars out polished synths and grimy rhythms. While both Tim Weeks and Pete Griffiths churn out obscure and devilish teched-out tones.

Toolroom Knights continues to go from strength to strength as it set the standards once again with another episode of undisputed talent.

Q & A with Toolroom Artist: Koen Groeneveld...

Q1: Hi Koen, please tell us where you are right now and what you are doing...

@ home, talking to my girlfriend on the phone. I just got back from working on my health, 15 km of biking! :-)

Q2: You are playing the main room for Toolroom Knights @ Ministry on the 8th Aug, what can we expect to hear??

A few new productions and remixes I recently did, Some tracks the people know me for and the rest depends
on the crowd and atmosphere, it’s hard to plan a set and I like to improvise!

Q3: Which do you enjoy the most dj'ing or producing??

Both! It’s pure magic producing a track and ending up with something that satisfies me, same goes for
dj-ing, when a vibe is there and people are really into it, it’s the best thing there is!

Q4: Is there an all time favourite track you wish you had produced??

The original Rockafeller Skank and Born Slippy! :-)

Q5: If you could pick anyone dead or alive to have lunch with, who would it be??

Any airline pilot, I would ask his ass of, I’m a aviation freak and I have so many questions.

A quickfire Q & A from Man of the Moment - Wolfgang Gartner

Q1: Hi Wolfgang, please tell us where you are right now and what you are doing...
In my office at home going over my tour schedule, and re-capping some licensing deals that were done with "Wolfgang's 5th Symphony."

Q2: You are playing the main room for Toolroom Knights @ Ministry on the 8th Aug, what can we expect to hear??
I have no clue what I'll be playing. Generally I figure that out once I get to the venue and feel out the crowd. But I tend to play more on the techno side of things when outside of North America, I also have quite a bit of unreleased productions of my own that I will be playing.

Q3: Which do you enjoy the most dj'ing or producing??
They are two completely different animals, and I enjoy them both equally in very different ways. Without the DJ'ing I would have no inspiration or drive to make music, the gigs keep me in sync with what's going on and what people are feeling. And the producing means I always have a bunch of my own unreleased tracks to play. They go hand in hand.

Q4: Is there an all time favourite track you wish you had produced??
To wish that I had produced something that somebody else made has never really crossed my mind. I just enjoy other peoples' work when it's something that I like, and try and learn from it and apply it to my own stuff, so that I can make the tracks people wish THEY made!

Q5: If you could pick anyone dead or alive to have lunch with, who would it be??
