Hi all, Quick question, is it really worth upgrading to better quality interconnections between mixer to amp and decks to mixer? Was thinking of skytronic or will the "out of the box" leads be just as good?

see iv had thoughts on this too, people say with a pioneer djm 600 it doesnt really matter, but if you have an allen & heath it might be worth doing but depends really , baring in mind ixos cables are £15 a peice

I have a DJM400 and am about to connect up to a pair of CDJ400's. I have gone down the route of quality cables for my Hi-Fi using QED and Ixos and am not 100% wether they made a huge difference. Having said that, the skytronic ones aren't that expensive so maybe for the sake of a few £s, I will be cutting out a potential weak link in sound quality?

allegedly, the 400 has better sound quality than the 600.. I have had both, and ran both through stock cables and they sounded the same... If you have the cash to upgrade, i dont think it would hurt..

depends how your using it really, cos ypu could have £25 cables, good mixer, and cdjs, but if your using it witbh a £50 pair of speakers, whats the point

The set up will be connected to my existing Hi-Fi which is all Arcam & Mission gear which didn't come cheap so I guess for the sake of a few extra £s I may as well do it to compliment the rest of the gear. Anyone used any Skytronic cables or is there any other brand that most people tend to use or upgrade too?

I just use cheap ones off ebay and I tested them and they are very low impedance so well up to the job. |
