Decks, mixers, speakers and amps?!?

Hey! I'm very new to this site and having decks but I'm having problems connecting everything together.
I have a pair of Numark TT1625 dj decks and a Numark DM950 mixer. I recently bought a pair of KAM speakers off ebay with the following spec:
DJ-15Z

WOOFER 15" with Kapton Voice Coil

TWEETER: super Piezoelectric

FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 25Hz - 27,000Hz

POWER HANDELING: 400 Watts Peak

Deepth of Each Unit: 14"

Hight of Each Unit: 28"

Width of Each Unit: 20"

and the seller also wrote that these speakers are active. When i plug everything in together, the decks, mixer and speakers, the sound is really quiet. This makes me think that there isn't an amp in the speakers, although he said they were active, but as I'm new to all this stuff I thought maybe theres something that I'm missing? Am I connecting everything up wrong, do I need to buy an amp? If anyone thinks they know where I've gone wrong or if they think the seller on ebay was lying when he said they were active, I'd appreciate peoples' comments on my problem

The KAM DJ-15Z are passive speakers according to the information I can find by googling.
You will need an amplifier Im afraid.
They retail at £195 a pair (new).....
