Default 2 channels but to i need MOOOOREEE?????????

do i need 4 channels
I have a 2 channel mixer and 2 - kam bdx 3000 decks, i am investing in some cd decks and was wondering if i need a 4 channel mixer. My mixer has 2 inputs fo each channel and you can switch between which inout you want for each channel but only play 2 inouts at a time. would a 4 channel mixer be advisable and if so, why? and which one? im looking to spend about £100 if i need a new one, cheers james.

i'd stick with what you've got for now and spend your time mastering cd decks and playing them with vinyl decks.

when you feel the need to start playing with three or four decks the get a 4 channel mixer

i will say though it is well worth getting fully on top of your beatmatching before trying to use 3 decks otherwise you have the potential for the musical equivilant of a terrorist attack on grand central station

My opion would be to go for a 4 channel mixer.
I know what the other guys said is true but it can be a pain if you still want to inculde vinyl into your mix.
For example you have a tune on your cd deck 1/ channel one and you want to cue up your vinyl you would have to switch over the channel reset gains eqs ect. It would be much eaiser to have a channel per deck.
As for mixer choice most people would say go gold and get a expensive mixer.
Behringer do a nice 4 channel micer the DJX700 looks alot like a Pioneer DJM600
I lernt on the same mixer before upgrading
hope tha helps

i reckon it's worth learning the slightly harder way and learning about levels at the same time. The amount of dj's i come accross that don't understand levels very well is amazing and it makes such a difference to the quality of the sound through the soundsystem.

I don't really understand what you mean about resetting gains because i reset each gain for every tune i play beacause different records have different loudnesses due to different pressing processes and cd's are recorded at different levels

agree with both of you there, but i wouldnt spend £100 on a 4 channel mixer, wait untill you have a few hundred pound and go for something like the numark 5000fx or a djm 5/600
