I think its pointless tbh, anyone who can afford a 700 can most likely afford the 800 or be able to get the money together, nice to have the option, but id go for the 800

from what i hear you're best off with an old 500 or 600 in terms of sound quality

like i say from what i hear sound and build quality aren't as good on the newer pioneers

all pioneer's get slated quite often when compared to a & h and ecler, i've never had a problem with my 500 suits me for what i do. I guess we're talking the kind of sound quality differences that only really register on a big good quality rig (i.e. opus or f1)

also what sounds good with cd decks isn't always great with vinyl - you know what i mean? I think it's easier to make cd decks sound good as long as what you play is well produced

mate, pioneer arnt one of the industry leaders because every time they make a new mixer it sounds worse than the previous model!!! Digital sampling, is now well out of the range of what the ear can here, so vinyl still sounds great.

No but it's because for years they were the industry standard, same as technics - this is starting to change a bit now though, you start to come accross more a & h's and eclers on various different set ups

I'm not saying they're not good - i wouldn't swop my djm500 for any other mixer i love it to bits but they're certainly not the best mixers out there in terms of build and sound quality any more - imo ecler have to take that crown at the moment
