bit of a price difference though isn't there, but you could get a DJM 500 or 600 for not much more

Yeh I suppose, but Ive heard that 500, 600's are a waste of time compared to a 800, I mite get a 500/400/600 myself in the future

I think the 400 looks like great fun, solid build and good features. like to have a blaze on that mixer!

I have a DJX700 although it's packed away with 2x Pioneer CDJ 500's. I can't stand using the DJX700 (DJM600 rip off)

I'll be getting a DJM400 or a DJM600 next year though, then eventually upgrade from CDJ 500's to 1000's.

Started out on my exboyfriends DJM 500. Bought it from him. Been using the 800 since it came out and then a few months ago I treated myself and got the 1000. I still use the 800 the most though.

My next mixer will either be a DJM 600 or DJM 800. I'm still saving up

Yep, starting out learning on a 2-channel mixer is fine but once you KNOW you are going to stick with mixing go with a 4-channel mixer or more if possible. If you get a 2-channel in a year when your ready to expand and use other equipment you will be beating yourself up.
