| Just started djing a few months ago and am loving it. I mix electro, tech house, techno and a bit of minimal. The thing is, the electro i listen to sounds as good when i'm at home as it does when I'm out clubbing. But, minimal seems to sound much, much, MUCH better when i'm out than when i'm listening at home. For instance, when i went to dc10 the music was probably the best i've ever heard. but when i try and download minimal and techno from somewhere like beatport it sounds boring. really thin bass and doesn't get me going at all. I was wondering if there was a reason for this or if its just because i've been downloading crap minimal?! any help appreciated cheers |

| with minimal there's a lot of sub bass and ultra low frequencies involved - your stereo at home probably just doesn't chuck them out also on a soundsystem in a club the mid sounds are coming out the mid cabinets, the high the high etc. with minimal the crispness of each sound is important and its always gonna sound better on a rig cause it's not one speaker trying to do everything. I'm sure if you played your tunes out on a rig they'd sound good. (They'd sound better on vinyl and not poxy downloads as well)
