i think the venue would have to be 2 rooms tho, there's way to many styles for just one.

i don't think it should work like that, personally i think like Chris has said as long as we get 2 rooms everyone who wants the chance to play should get it even if people are only doing 30 min sets.

if you are going for two rooms it would be best to split them by musical genre rather than dj ability.

yeah that's most likely what will happen, what i was saying was that you can't put sit DJ's on in the main room can you, but it's also not fair to say no you can't play

that's not the way i would do it, events that have two rooms that play the same genre in both rooms even at different times often have a very strange atmosphere as there is no defined focus or theme to either room. You have to remember that above all what you are trying to do is create an environment - that is what builds the overall vibe and essentially aides punters in remembering a good night. More often than not people on the dancefloor won't remember much of the details of particular dj's sets other than it was really good or it was shit. But the environment the night took place in and the vibe will be what sticks in the memory.

The way to do it is to split rooms by musical genre and seriously structure the set times. It is important that the music flows in terms of sets (it's no good having bangin' techno at nine followed by house at 12). But also structure set times according to dj ability, as Rees said have the less talented dj's at the start and end of the night and leave pick time for the better jocks. It is widely the case that 'fledgling dj's' are given warm up sets when the club is filling up and warm down sets (if it is an all nighter) when the club is (hopefully not) slowly emptying.

Just my tuppence worth, take it or leave it

that's exactly wht i'm saying, we need to start out the night with like funky, commercial house or whetever, then maybe something like i'll do a minimal electro & tech house set
then progress through techno, hard techno, trance, hardcore etc. and in the other room maybe R&B, Hip-Hop, Grime, Dub-step, Garage, Drum & Bass or something
