anyone use any decent (preferably free) music recording software, I used to have nero but lost it when my last PC died. i want to record straight from my decks (have pioneer djm600 mixer to run it thru first of course) and save as WAV or MP3 file.

I use Magix Audio Cleaning Lab - found it in Tescos for about a fiver a few years ago. It gives you the option of changing the eq/hiss/ crackle etc of the mix once recorded and it can be kept as a single stream or broken into separate tracks. It does a great job. Latest edition can be found in the link below.
