I use this on my PC at home and it really works, when you shut down your pc it can sometimes take a while due to displaying the windows is shutting down message, this will speed that process up

do this..

Start > Run, type Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control.
Click on the "Control" Folder.
Select "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
Right click on it and select Modify.
Set it to a value lower than 2000, say 200

now when you go to shut down windows it will shut down in next to no time.
