Default Logic Audio Memory Issue

HI all,

I'm an avid user of Logic Audio Platinum and recently hit the high end of my CPU and not being able to play some of my finished tracks. So, I bought a new studio PC and built it up (AMC 64 2.9G dual core, 2GB DDR Ram, good mobo, huge graphics and hds) and runs amazingly well.

The issue is that, although I have 2GB ram, Logic only seems to want to use around 512mb.

Is anyone else having the same issue?

What is it exactly that uses up this allocated memory as it seems to be related to events and automation, although removing this doesn't seem to help much - only eating it up further.

I've gone and optimised all memory allocations, audio files and looped everything that was possible, only to be left with 1006 bytes... I can't even remove an automation point any more.

Without going through the hassle of bounding individual tracks and removing all automation, tracks, objects and plugins from each track is there a way of increasing this allocated memory within Logic?

Any help with this would be great as I've only experienced this with Windows XP Pro SP2 - I was on W98 for ages as this ate up so little resources on my old PC that Logic ran wonders

Cheers all!
Ashley
