what do you spend on them? how ofton do you change them? is it important to spend loads.?

depends really..you should change at least once a year i think, i'm using stanton sk505's at the moment, pretty ok, good sound, ortofon are really good to use although slightly more expensive.

i use ortonfon nightclub's (s) they look after your vinyl, sound quality is high and all basic scratching holds fine.

I use Numark CC1's, there awsome, they dont jump at all and the sound quality its brill Looking at the needle the stylus wont need replacing for a long while

#1 What Style of music are you going to be playing
#2 Will you be scratching/back cueing
#3 Do you have a Booth Monitor or are you mixing strickly thru Head Phones
#4 How often/long are you playing on them

I play alot of high energy "bassy" tracks with scratching and needle drops
I use and the Shure m44-7 its a solid tried and true club shell and i change my needles monthly weather they need it or not but i play 6 days a week too

don't use turntable so can't really comment although from what i've heard the stantons and ortofons are a good buy
