Default CDJ-1000 Mk3 Reveiw

CDJ-1000 Mk3 Review

So you’re a vinyl junkie, nothing can beat vinyl, nothing never will beat vinyl, so don’t talk to me about CD players. Ok then I’ll talk to you about something more than just a CD player. I talk to you about the Pioneer CDJ-1000 Mk3.

If you’ve ever thought about converting to CD’s from vinyl then take a look at this deck. If you’ve ever thought of starting DJing and want to use the format of CD’s then take a look at this deck. Whether you’re a veteran mixer and you’ve been banging out mixes on the old 1200's for years, or you’ve just heard Tongy send out some mixing goodness over the airwaves and want a go yourself, then the CDJ-1000 Mk3 is the piece of gear you need to pay attention to and seriously think about getting your hands on one.

Known to many as the industry standard CD deck the CDJ-1000 Mk3 is truly a great piece of gear and hasn’t gotten its reputation for a few colourful buttons here and there. Lets start with the build of the deck. Its sturdy and built to last, but not to heavy to move around and not to bulky to pick up and place it somewhere else. Give it a quick knock and you’ll soon find its not just a piece of plastic with fancy shiny buttons. The black smooth finish gives it a great look and the buttons, sliders and switches are top quality too, with great response times.

The infamous Jog Wheel and Scratch program are even better this time around with better response to the slightest of touches and the ability to choose the tension of the Jog Wheel as well, with option of high or low tension perfect for variety with mix & scratch DJ’s. Other such features as Looping & Hot Cues are present and are easy to pick up and get to grips with. Not forgetting the Master Tempo feature allowing adjustments to the pitch being made while in mix.

Overall this CD deck is a great piece of kit, and should be exploited by all DJ’s. Even the hardcore vinylist should take a look. The facts are that once you’ve got your hands on one you’ll wonder how you ever managed without one. It truly is a great piece of kit, well worthy of its reputation. If I was to tell you this is not worth the money then Id be lying, its pricey but you get what you pay for, every last penny. If you’re going out to buy a CD decks and you want the best, then I recommend this deck, it is truly a great deck and every DJ should have one.
