Man...

I took my a least 1 1/2 years to beat mix... I was trying all on my own and couldn't get the hang of it... then I was finally able to crack it!

I was so happy with myself when I did get it!

I remenber --- I was not getting anywhere for months -- then somone told me to find the first beat and let it go in time with the other reckord then move the pitch up/down and start again as soon as you lose the beat. About another two weeks and I had it.

Don't get me wrong I still cock up now and again. But who doesn't

Hi all
i learnt on 1210's guess it took me around 6 mts before i was putting in some decent mixes now it's like riding a bike to me as i am not now so active as i been doing it for 18 yrs so the last few years i only get my decks out evey 6mts and takes me half hour to warm up then i'm on fire
i also tend to mix in bars as i aways find the tunes groove so much nicer and i love the long mixes I love phasing the beat always good to give the mix a lift u got to go gently and listen easy to go pair shape .
Never got the scratching good enough to show off though
see you guys

Hello all, Recently i bought a Gemini CDM-3600, yes, yes it may not be all that good, but i'm happy with it and it's a good way for me to start...seeing how i'm only 14. Anyways, i really don't know of any good songs with clear solid beats that i can start beatmatching with. If anyone can tell me some songs i can start with that would be great, thanks.

Default hey

hello ,

Well i learnt with BELT DRIVE turntables & yes it was hard yes it was frustrating, but back in the day when i would just mix uk garage (not the grime shit) it was not too hard to get to gist with it really, you had to learn your tunes even if that involved playing your favorite tunes to death! that will always apply to any starter or noob DJs! Starting with belt drives is the way to start because when you improve jump onto some 1210s or Stanton's & you will find you can mix with no problem.
thanks !!
