hmmm

laptops are compact and easier.i have one and definalty wouldnt be without it.. specaliy for holding tunes, as ya can carry them around with you place to place, also generaly surfing net, alos like a portable office

desktops well i still like, ive 2 desktops,.. see you can upgrade them do what you want, add better specs to them blah blah make them do what you want brill.

if i HAD to choose then erm desktops

my dads got a mega tower and i want it!! its twice the size of a normal one... its got 4 hardrives in it and 6 disk drives.. its like lightning!! lol

well desktops for home studios imo. High spec machines are really cheap. But Laptops obviously for portability. I considered getting a rackmount machine built into a console with a 21" monitor and all my midi gear for use with ableton etc. kinda lyk Sashas controller idea but with a built in machine.

I voted for laptop pc... but... My preference is for macbooks...

For djing, gaming, working... and stuff I use only laptop @ home/work...
I don't use any desktop anymore...

Cheers!

PC for studio, work & gaming. Laptop with Ableton Live for those boring flights to and from.

In my own experience I'd say rackmount all the way.
Sure it's more to lump around, but it's no different than lugging all those vinyl around is it.

Never let me down like a laptop and I control DMX lighting at the same time as mixing and sampling.

Just wish I could get a lappy that could perform like it

Exactly, i've decided that the laptop route is easier and more practical, but i'll still be using a desktop machine at home, for now anyway

well, if you dont need an on the move computer, get a desktop. If you need to travel with a computer, get a laptop. And if your mamma is hot, just stick with her!

i put laptop but thats because theyre more portable and can have a really good spec nowadays. But if your just using it 2 record mixes and produce music at home or in studio. Using computers is a lot easier then it used to be now as they are so much more powerful, I mean Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM, 320GB SATA Hard-Drive.........On for a fookin winner there
