Hi deadcityradio,
To be honest, I dont like getting caught up in all the different styles/genre's/bollox lol but back in the day when I was out at all-nighters constantly the term 'hardcore jungle-techno' was used by a few of the more well-known MC's in the 1991-1992 era.
I play and collect what I would describe as oldskool hardcore, which includes piano/vocal, jungle, techno, and other types of music released from the late 1980's up to about 1993 maybe early 1994. After mid 1994 the scene seemed to split (in the UK anyways) and you either listened to Jungle (which by then was almost DnB), or happy hardcore (bit cheesey lol).
I love the 1992-1993 Jungle but never really got into DnB, instead in 94 Ikinda went back to my 'roots' and started listening to housemusic again.
The 'era' I love to play/mix/listen to the most is 1990-1992.
A few examples:
Love Decade, Quadrophonia, LFO, 2 Bad Mice, Nightmares On Wax, Bass Construction, M.D.Emm ?
Record Labels which I love; Production House, Basement Records, Impact Records, Strictly Underground, Formation, F Project, Moving Shadow, and many more....
Does this sound like the sort of thing you are into ?
