This is a very typical attitude for a 'young' 'un. No wonder this country is going down the pan. People moan about the government making a balls up of things (like drugs) but when the 'next' generation have this attitude its clear to see that the goverment is knocking on wood...
Drugs can and do destroy lives. Yes, in all the same ways as alcohol can but with a few extra just for good measure. Alcohol is a licenced product meaning it has to be 'regulated' like any other drink/food. While drinks manufacturers can make their products as strong as they want they still have to abide by Health and Safety regulations and Hygiene laws. We know where our beer is coming from and that unless its taken very, very, very excessively its not going to directly kill us.
Can the same be said for drugs. No, you don't REALLY know where its coming from. No, you don't know absolutely it HASN'T been cut with anything. No, you don't actually know what its doing to your body/mind (... apart from feeling good! ...Tsch! Kids!)
My point is NOBODY should need drugs to appreciate dance music... Back in the days when E was all the rage I used to go to Kinetic in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent and I was a complete straight head... I even had people coming up to me, whom I'd never even seen before let-alone met and say "Alright mate, you're the straight-head? Don't know how you can do that and dance up here all night but nice one mate, respect!"
Me + Good Music (+ Podium, if available) - Drugs = Some amazing nights!!
Most I've ever done is weed and I won't be doing anything else. Yeah, I drink alcohol but I've noticed as I've got older I don't need to drink excesively to have a good night (a good few help me to get on the dancefloor sometimes where I'd be a little bit self concious... like 80's bars and on Student nights). A lot of the time I don't drink when I go out anyway because I usually drive and the club I generally go to is about 15 miles away... I ain't paying for a taxi that far when I've got a perfectly good (and expensive!) car sitting outside!
If you need drugs to have a good time that doesn't say a lot about the person taking the drugs? Are you that much of a dullard you need drugs to 'bring you out of your shell'? If you need drugs to appreciate the music you 'love' then its not really the music you love its the opportunity for taking those drugs that the music provides.
