Default A little help please.

I made myself an awesome mix the other night messing around and I want to know how do I record my mix.

I’m using CD decks and want to put it all to mp3 on my laptop.

Can you please tell me what leads I need and what sort of software I will need.

Thanks

Dj Sammy D

hi the program i use is soundforge 8 this seems to be the best for recording for me anyway i know alot of ppl now use ableton live for the live effect but to just record a mix this is the program for me. As for leads you will need a twin phono to headphone jack lead which are easily available at your local dj/electronic shop

yeah, sony soundforge is good. You need a stereo phono to mini jack lead, try ebay, loads of them on their, good quality, dirt cheap, get gold connectors if you can.

Remember to keep the levels in the green on your mixer and record the mix at a low level into your pc. This will avoid distortion/clipping, you can always beef the level up afterwards.

Yea 2 phono to 1 male jack lead (the one?s with gold plated connecters) stereo 3.5mm jack plug to twin phono sockets, white cable, gold plated, 2.5M

As for recording software Sony Soundforge is good but you have to pay for it I use audacity which is free and is just as good as Sony Soundforge, IMO. I like the compression/normalization settings Audacity has, really easy to use.

watching out for the levels when recording your mix is a must yeah
